Most of the news in wku's news paper are mostly centered around events happening on or around campus. Wku mostly favor stories that has an effect on the student body or the community around it. These stories usually are "soft news"stories that doesn't discuss any situations they feel might offend anyone.  The stories included in the local news paper that come from Wku are ones that paint an image of wku in a good way. Stories like this college being listed as one of the most affordable colleges. They also feature stories that provide the public with information on up coming events. Like stories that let the community know what about events hosted at the Kentucky museum.  The newspaper’s reliance on WKU public relations is a good thing because it insures that they don't offend any potential student or people that might be donors of the university. Although these type of stories don't necessarily promote a  healthy dialogue within the community it does bring t...

Since I am a Nashville native I chose to do research over Warner Music Nashville. Warner Music Nashville is a record label that is apart of Warner Music Group recording company located in Nashville. Warner Music Nashville specializes in country music. Some of their big name artist are Brett Eldredge, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, and RaeLynn. Their artists have won their fair share of awards from new artist of the year to entertainer of the year. Warner music Nashville distribute their artists recordings through a variety of music platforms like apple music, spotify and Pandora. Their artists suggest that mostly their targeted audience are people who like country music. I myself don't see any problems within this record label, the only thing that i could think of is maybe they bring more of a variety in the artist apart of their record label. They could overcome this by signing more artist that produce other genres of music. This record label mostly uses ads on the radio and...

Sports illustrated magazine is one of the best selling magazines in the word and has won its share of national magazine awards. Their magazines focus mainly on the premier sports and deliver news about events that happen in the world of sports.Their magazines contains high quality images of significant sport moments that are recent at the time while also providing stats and details behind that moment on the same page. The people that are pictured in this magazine tend to be athletes from a variety of sport platforms and ethic backgrounds. The information in their magazine usually relates directly back to the images that are pictured in it. Since the magazine reports on a number of different sports the demographic within Sports illustrated tends to be very diverse. Their images seem to target the people who are sport fans, rather that be baseball, soccer or basketball. The editors seem to think that the most important moments in a sporting event are what their readers want to see....

A Synergy is when two companies combine so the value and performance of the two will become greater as a whole. An example of this would be how when AT&T reached a deal to acquire in time Warner in October of last year. This move put HBO inc, which is subsidiary of Time Warner and AT&T's telecommunication holdings under the same umbrella. A subsidiary is an enterprise is controlled by another through the ownership of greater than 50 percent of its voting stock. Synergies can be beneficial because they allow for both of the companies involved to bring in a larger audiences to their own company which allow for them to make more money. One subsidiary that is owned by AT&T is DirecTv this could be beneficial to Time Warner being since one of their subsidiaries is Cartoon Network, a cable television network. This could be beneficial since DirecTv is a cable television provider they could offer their customers an exclusive channel package that would...

Love and Friendship 13. Paterson 14. Everybody Wants Some 15. Arrival 16. De Palma 17. The Edge of Seventeen 18. Toni Erdmann 19. 13th 20. Zootopia The list above comes from the rolling stones website, according to the these were the top movies in 2016. The nine movies that are highlighted in yellow are also books. I myself have never heard of half of these movies nor have I heard of the books. I think that goes to show that even though a book might not be that popular doesn't mean that it wouldn't make for a good movie. Once a movie is made from a book however I think that this happens to boost the sales that a book receives. This could be from people watching the movie and then going out to purchase the book that the film was based. At the end of the day, i believe that when books ge...

it's rare that i sit down and read a magazine however if i am in my barbershop or a waiting room of some sort i might pick up a copy of their ESPN or Sports illustrated magazines and flip through it a bit. The thing that i tend to notice about the ad in Sport illustrated is that there ads always seem to be at odds with the editorial content. For example one time I remember noticing a cigarette ad and thing to myself what did that have to do with the world of sprots. however i thought maybe the ad was placed there because the people who tend to buy sport illustrated magazines might be middle aged fathers, and maybe the this ad was targeted to them.    On the other hand in ESPN magazines their ads tend to target not just middle age fathers but kids and teens who play sports or are fans. I say this because in their magazines i tend to see them ads tend to include a star athlete performing some type of action related to their sport with the attention being drawn to what this ath...

The movie that I recently watched with for foreign characters is The Fast and Furious one of my all time favorites. The foreign characters that are portrayed in the film is Latinos. There's also number of Asians who make an appearance in this film. The Latino community in this film are portrayed as family oriented. A quote that stood out to me in this film was where Dominic Toretto played by Vin Diesel said "the most important thing in life will always be family" this is just one quote that shows how important family is to him and the people in his community The Asians in the movie however are portrayed as the foes who preform drive byes on street bikes. Though out the movie they also seem to be willing to do any thing for the fastest car parts in order to win races. I believe this is how Americans in Hollywood interpret the Latino and Asian community when they think of the two cultures.
